Friday Elder's Prayer Group |
Contact:
pastor@immanuel-lutheran-sv.org
The Friday Morning Elders Prayer Group, known as EPG
(Elders' Prayer Group), meets every Friday morning from 6:00-7:00 AM at Immanuel. This Group is a pretty specific group
at Immanuel, for it is made up of the Board of Elders at
Immanuel.
In the Lutheran Church the Board of Elders are
those men who are responsible for the Spiritual Life of the
parish. Even though the Elders meet once a month to tend to
the "business" concerns of the church, for the past
five years
the Men of the Board of Elders have met at Immanuel every
Friday morning specifically to focus on Bible Study and Pray
for the members of Immanuel.
Pastor Ron leads this Bible
Study Group. The topics we have covered have varied from
Promise Keepers Men's Bible Study, "The Purpose Driven
Life," and now we are studying "The Miracles of Jesus." We
end each Bible Study with the Elder offering a prayer to
God. Weekly the Elders pray for Immanuel and specifically
for the members of their Care Group. One of the goals of
the Board of Elders of Immanuel is to serve each member.
In
order to do this, the Elders have divided the membership of
Immanuel into "Care Groups." That is every member of
Immanuel is assigned to one of the men who serve on the
Board of Elders. The way the Elders have divided up the
congregation is alphabetically. The Elders take the first
letter of the last name of an individual and use that letter
to assign them to an Elder. If you have a prayer concern
that you would like for your Elder to lift up in Prayer at
their Friday Morning Prayer Group, please contact your Elder
and he will lift up your concern in prayer.
